Step 1: To access Crosstab, choose the Analyze tab from the menu at the top of the screen. Then, choose the menu option for Crosstab.
Step 2: Here, the main Crosstab screen will be displayed. Note that the flow of the tool moves from left to right.
Step 3: Search for criteria using the search bar at the top of the tool, or choose criteria by using the dropdown menus in the box on the left side of the screen.
Step 4: Once criteria has been selected, it will appear in the adjacent box to the right in the center of the tool.
Step 5: Drag and drop selected criteria that appears in the center box to the Columns and Rows boxes on the righthand side of the screen as is. Or, to combine criteria using Boolean operators (AND, OR, or NOT), drag and drop criteria to combine them using the Boolean operators in the box at the bottom of the screen. Verify Boolean logic using the "Verify" button. After Boolean logic is verified, use the vertical Columns button to add criteria to the columns of the Crosstab. Use the horizontal Rows button to add criteria to the rows of the Crosstab.
Step 6: View the criteria added on the right side of the screen. Continue adding criteria to the rows and columns of the Crosstab by dragging and dropping until your report is complete. View selected columns in the Columns box on the right side of the screen, or view selected rows in the Rows box on the right side of the screen.
Step 7: When all criteria are added to Row and Column boxes on the righthand side, click the arrow button at the top of the screen to run the Crosstab.
Step 8: View completed Crosstab here. To view additional columns, use the scrollbar at the bottom of the Crosstab.
Step 9: Use the menu options on the lefthand side of screen to Open, Save, Share, or Export the Crosstab. Choose the Chart Type, View, or Grid options to change how the Crosstab is displayed.
