Using MRI-Simmons Catalyst

About Crosstab

Crosstab allows users to search, pull, and edit criteria from survey data and add it to a report while sorting and filtering categories.

The Crosstab tool flows from left to right, where criteria are searched on the left side of the tool and added to the report on the right side of the screen. Use the step-by-step guide below to generate a Crosstab report in MRI Simmons Insights.

Selecting, filtering & organizing survey data in Crosstab

To get click on Analyze on the menu bar at the top. On the drop down menu select, Crosstab.

You will immediately be prompted to select, organize and filter the survey data you want via the Composer tool. Visit the Composer tab to get a walk through of how it is set up and how to use it.

Once you have selected the survey data you want to analyze, click Run Report, in the bottom, right-hand corner.

The Crosstab will appear with a table of values including Unweighted, Weighted, Vertical %, Horizontal %, and Index.

Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the columns to filter the column information from least to most, or most to least. Typically users find it most helpful to filter by most-to-least by Index.

Use the Variables, Filters, Transpose, and Target Creator on the left-hand side hide or expand the columns, rows, layout, and other features of navigating the table.

If you find yourself needing to refine the survey variables themselves, click on Composer to add, delete, refine, or otherwise edit the survey data.

You can use the Index to filter, use the Variables, Filters, and Targe Creator or the Compose button to further add, subtract, or refine

If you want to keep what you found on Crosstab, you can:

  1. name the Crosstab by click on 'Untitled' and renaming it, then clicking Save, and
  2. export it by clicking the three dots in the upper right-hand corner.
