What is a Reference Source?

Reference sources are useful when you need to find an overview or summary of your topic and are best used in the beginning stages of research. Reference sources like encyclopedias and handbooks can help you narrow the focus of your topic, identify keywords, and may include lists of more in-depth sources.

All print reference sources are located behind the Research Assistance desk in the Reference Collection. If you need help locating a book, please contact a librarian. As a reminder, reference books are in library use only.
