Mendeley: Organize and Cite Sources

Mendeley is a citation manager tool. You can use it to:

• Save sources for your research projects
• Store PDFs of your sources
• Organize your sources by project
• Cite your sources while writing a paper in Microsoft Word

Mendeley is the only citation manager that staff at the Kraemer Family Library can assist you with.

You can use Mendeley in two ways:

• The web-based version - available anywhere you have an internet connection
• The desktop app - download onto your personal computer

These versions are linked. You will have one Mendeley account, so whenever you add or delete sources from one version it syncs with the other. Your library of sources should always match if you switch between versions.

Please note: The export process does not send folders or PDFs into Mendeley. The video also addresses how to recreate your folders and export PDFs from RefWorks.
