Introduction to Tracking State Legislation

Many state legislative documents are available freely online. A state legislative history typically includes the following documents:

  • Bill (full-text of all versions of the bills)
  • History of actions on the bill
  • Committee reports
  • Transcripts/recordings of debates
  • Statute (if bill is passed)

Colorado Revised Statutes

  • Colo. Rev. Stat. § 19-1-111 (2011) -- Title 19 Article 1 Part 111, or the Appointment of Guardian ad litem.

Colorado Constitution

  • Colo. Const. Art. X, Section 20 (2011) -- Taxpayer's Bill of Rights

Colorado Code of Regulations

  • 8 CCR 1504-3 (2012) -- Rules for the Administration of the College Access Network (Colorado Assists)

House Bill

  • HB 11-1032 -- This is a house bill entitled Restorative Justice. It was proposed in 2011, but see if it passed you can check out the Enacted House Bills in the 2011 Session Laws for Colorado.

Senate Bill

  • SB11-090 -- This bill is entitled Sunset Weather Modification Act Of 1972. It was prosposed in 2011, but to see if passed you can check out the Enacted Senate Bills in the 2011 Session Laws for Colorado.
