What are practice problems?

There are many books that contain hundreds - or even thousands - of solved physics problems that you can complete for practice on a topic you're struggling with. Most of them will walk you through their solutions, so that you can see where you went wrong if your answer doesn't match. This is a great way to do extra prep before a quiz or test, especially if you can't make it to tutoring or peer study sessions in the Excel Center.

How do I find them?

Use the main search box on the Library website. The best way to search is to type the name of the subject you want to practice, then add one of these phrases:

  • solved problems
  • practice problems
  • study guide

Be as specific as possible! If you are looking for electromagnetics problems, type that instead of instead of just physics II. Here are examples of good searches.

  • physics solved problems (this will produce a lot of results for practice problem books that cover content from general physics I or II)
  • thermodynamics solved problems
  • quantum mechanics study guide
