Author Search = find books written by Piaget, his original research
e-Books
If you are off campus, you will be asked for your UCCS login before being able to view an e-book.
Subject Headings
Remember, if you find one book on your topic, you can click on the subject to do a new search for that same subject.
Advanced Search
Use the advanced search to narrow by format or location. For example, if you only want electronic resources or if you are only looking for reference books, narrow to those locations.
Requesting Books
If one of our items is currently checked out, you can request it and the book will be held for you when it is returned. However, there may be another copy available in Prospector, so remember to check there. Prospector requests usually arrive within 3-4 business days.
Finding Items on the Shelf
Main Collection books are on the third floor, sorted by call number. The second (main) floor contains our Periodicals, Reference Books, Children's Literature, Curriculum Collection, Government Documents, Popular Reading, Videos and Reserves.
Use the Kraemer Library Catalog to find books, ebooks, DVDs, streaming movies, CDs, and streaming music owned by the library. You cannot find articles in the catalog! Need articles for your assignment? Search in a database.
Is our copy of a book checked out? Not enough books about your research topic at UCCS?
Use Prospector to search the catalogs of other libraries in Colorado! If an item you want is available, place a request and it will be delivered to Kraemer Family Library. You'll get an email when the item arrives.

The library houses a collection of reference books on the topic of education. You can browse these on the main floor of the library, just behind the Research Assistance desk, on the Reference shelves. Materials covering education topics have call numbers beginning with L.
We also carry a number of books detailing research methods and practices. Below are a few examples. Search the library catalog for more.
